We are searching for a Billings & Collections Manager to join our client in Maryland. This position will be responsible for managing the end-to-end billing process, from accurate invoicing to the collection of outstanding payments, specifically for site engineering, surveying, and landscape architecture services. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working with contracts, project-based billing cycles, handling large-scale construction and design projects, and managing client accounts with a focus on timely payments. Responsibilties:
- Generate and issue accurate billing reports and invoices for site engineering, surveying, and landscape architecture services based on project agreements, milestones, and time-and-materials billing.
- Work with the principal in charge and project managers to ensure all billable work (e.g., labor, materials, and professional services) is properly documented and invoiced.
- Resolve billing discrepancies, including addressing issues related to change orders, work scope adjustments, and project delays.
- Contact clients to follow up on overdue accounts, initiate payment plans, ensure proper client delivery, and resolve disputes in a professional and timely manner.
- Establish and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients by providing clear explanations of billing charges, addressing concerns, and resolving payment issues efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of all billing and collections activities and generate periodic reports for management, summarizing accounts receivable status, aging balances, and collections performance.
- Provide backup support for other Administration tasks
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in billing and collections management within the engineering, surveying, or landscape architecture industries or similar AEC/MEP industries
- Strong understanding of project-based billing cycles, including time-and-materials and milestone-based invoicing
- Proficiency in accounting software; Ajera experience a strong plus, advanced Excel skills for reporting and analysis.
- College Degree in a Business-Related Field or Equivalent Experience Preferred

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
