Job Description

Position Overview :

The Press Operator (I) is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining printing presses to

produce high-quality printed materials according to job specifications and production schedules. This

role requires technical expertise in press operation, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety

and quality standards. The Press Operator works closely with the prepress and finishing teams to

ensure efficient production and timely delivery of printed products.

Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) :

Assist in setting up printing presses, including loading ink, paper, and other materials.
Help adjust press settings, such as ink levels, tension, and registration, under the direction of

the press operator.

Monitor press operation to ensure smooth production and identify any issues or

malfunctions.

Load and unload paper rolls, sheets, and other materials onto and off the press.

Prepare and stage materials needed for the production run.

Assist with stacking, sorting, and packaging finished printed products.

Assist in inspecting printed materials for defects, inconsistencies, or errors.

Ensure that printed products meet quality standards and job specifications.

Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of press equipment and work area.

Ensure that all tools and supplies are properly stored and maintained.

Help maintain accurate records of production runs, including quantities, materials used, and

any issues encountered.

Assist with inventory management of printing supplies and materials.

Follow all safety guidelines and protocols while performing tasks.

Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe working environment.

Work closely with press operators and other team members to meet production goals and

deadlines.

Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements, Experience, & Education (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) :

High school diploma or equivalent.

Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn press operation and maintenance.

Strong attention to detail commitment to quality.

Excellent organization and time management skills.

Ability to troubleshot and resolve technical issues.

Physical ability to perform prepress tasks and handle materials as needed.
