Talent Development Specialist

Unite Health Share Ministries (UHSM) is a nonprofit, faith-based health sharing ministry that facilitates member-to-member health sharing among fellow Christians, serving as a connector to administer medical cost sharing. About this role

The Talent Development Specialist is responsible for new hire onboarding, employee training, and process optimization across departments. This role partners with managers to identify skill gaps, streamline workflows, and implement effective learning programs that support employee growth and business success. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who excels at building relationships, coaching employees, and designing development programs that drive engagement and performance.

Key Responsibilities

New Hire Onboarding & Employee Development

  • Own the new hire onboarding experience, ensuring employees are effectively integrated into the company, including 30-60-90 day check-ins.
  • Develop and facilitate onboarding sessions, equipping new employees with the tools and knowledge needed for success.
  • Continuously improve onboarding processes based on feedback and effectiveness metrics.

Training & Development

  • Assess training needs by collaborating with department leaders and analyzing performance data.
  • Design, implement, and facilitate training programs that enhance employee skills, leadership, and career growth.
  • Provide hands-on coaching and mentorship to employees at all levels.
  • Develop career growth plans and succession planning initiatives.
  • Ensure training programs align with company goals and support overall business performance.
  • Process Optimization & Performance Improvement

  • Work directly with departments to analyze workflows and identify process inefficiencies.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and employee effectiveness.
  • Support leadership teams in optimizing departmental structures and responsibilities.
  • Measure training and process effectiveness using key performance metrics and feedback loops.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in talent development, learning & development, training, or a related role with experience in employee onboarding, instructional design, coaching, or process improvement.
  • 3 years of experience using learning management systems (LMS) and training tools.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong ability to analyze workflows and recommend practical training solutions.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills for training sessions.
  • Ability to build relationships across teams and influence change.
