Description:
United Fire is looking for a highly organized and customer-focused Scheduler and Customer Support Coordinator to join our team. This role is equally responsible for scheduling route technicians who perform fire safety equipment inspections and provide front-line customer service for our counter sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and coordinate the daily routes of Fire Safety Technicians for inspections and service calls.
- Optimize technician schedules to ensure efficiency and timely service.
- Communicate with technicians to confirm schedules and job details.
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers, both in person and over the phone.
- Assist walk-in customers with fire extinguisher drop-offs and service requests.
- Handle incoming and outgoing phone calls, addressing customer questions and service needs.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and service appointments.
- Work closely with the service department team to resolve scheduling conflicts and improve service flow.
- Educate and solicit customers on all products and services available by United Fire.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to regularly move and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

- Comfortable working within shop areas and warehouses, with exposure to noise, machinery, and warehouse activity.

Position Details:
- Full time, non-exempt hourly
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of experience route service scheduling
- 2 years of experience in customer service
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with scheduling software
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Cash handling skills
- Pre-employment drug screening and background check required.
