What are the responsibilities and job description for the Precision Machine Operator Leader position at United Gear & Assembly?
Job Responsibilities
As a CNC Machine Operator, you will perform machine operations on Mills, Lathes, Grinders, Hobs and Broaches. Your duties will include reading process sheets, blueprints, and sketches of part to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements.
You will mount work piece between centers, in chuck, or to faceplate, manually or using hoist. Additionally, you will install preset tooling in tool posts, turrets or indexing heads, and automatic-tool-change magazine, in sequence specified on process sheet.
Your responsibilities will also include observing numerical displays on control panel and comparing with data on process sheet to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and speeds of machining cuts.
You will turn dials and switches to correct machine performance, applying practical knowledge of lathe operation. Furthermore, you will inspect first-run piece and spot-check succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications, using micrometers and precision dial gauges.
