Job Summary
The Technical Project Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating multiple complex activities, applying specific skills and knowledge to meet project requirements. Provide project management duties for multi-year projects and/or programs. Manage a defined programs of electric construction for which engineering and/or construction may be provided by internal and external resources. Solves complex project management problems; takes broad perspective to identify and initiate innovative solutions. Responsible for managing internal/external resource requirements, priorities, and project execution strategy.
In this role, you will facilitate the work of external contractors and other internal business areas, holding them accountable for performance and results. Additionally, you will provide technical advice to senior management as needed and oversee overall project control and reporting. You will ensure that projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality and engineering standards. Work with manager to procure services, tools, etc. as needed and manage purchasing process, from start to finish including proper timely payments. Provide project management for multi-year projects and programs.
It is the sole discretion of management to determine the specific expectations for the Technical Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities
- Execution and management of multiple procurement efforts to obtain contractors for construction, create purchase requisitions, purchase orders, goods/service entry receipts, manage and track accruals, assist vendors with invoicing, payment delays/rejections, troubleshooting payment errors
- Participates in daily construction meetings, records and distributes meeting minutes & compliance and manhour trackers
- Development and maintenance of detailed schedules and risk management plans
- Ensures a safe work environment through process and procedure adherence and safety metrics, managing construction workforce compliance/testing schedules, vehicle inspection forms, and safety audit forms
- Assists Supervisors with executing and troubleshooting SAP work management system, checks status of work orders, notifications, and purchase orders, and develops reporting from systems to facilitate work
- Manages bargaining unit employee time reporting to ensure proper charge codes, ensure miscategorized manhours are corrected, ensure capital work has a capital work order created, assists with automated bot correction setting updates and changes
- Knowledge and experience in maintaining TMP promotion list updates for both bargaining unit employees
- Investigation and analysis of variances with recommendations to senior level management
- Considers innovative ways to undertake work, promoting automation and efficiencies in the day-to-day work streams
- Works with MRO on risk reduction plans and mitigation actions
- Attendance at Leadership meetings, providing and presenting reports and cost schedule-risk views as required
- Be proficient with the use of analytics to communicate and present the effectiveness of current processes as well as measure proposed process improvements.
- Develop complex business or technical recommendations that guide business area desired outcomes, building a shared vision and the means to attain it.
- Provide project management for multiyear training programs and other projects.
- Willingness to work overtime to assist with storm or emergency work.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant experience in the energy industry with 3-5 years relevant project management or engineering experience
- Ability to mobilize team members to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Proficient in risk management and mitigation plans.
- Skilled in utilizing MS Office tools for data analysis, budgeting, planning, and optimizing schedules and presentations.
- Ability to use and query SAP.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong public presentation skills and the ability to summarize concepts using Microsoft Project.
- Results-oriented with a focus on achieving targets.
- Understanding and implementation of quality assurance processes within project structures.
- Knowledge of the main configuration and general arrangements of networks (substations, overhead lines, and cable) infrastructures.
- Proven ability to lead teams and work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make strategic decisions under pressure.
- High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with stakeholders, clients, and team members
- Engineering Degree Preferred
- PMP Preferred
