Job Description: As an Equipment Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for continuously improving processes through education, professional training, and certification. You will represent the company in a manner that supports our mission statement, train adequate backup personnel, establish and maintain professional relationships with coworkers and vendors, and communicate with honesty, openness, and transparency. Additionally, you will act with integrity, set an example, and be accountable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain equipment maintenance programs for all assets
- Assist with refining general administration, shop accounting, and equipment cost tracking processes
- Ensure timely completion of shop/equipment reporting and documentation
- Become proficient in using the company ERP systems for equipment monitoring, maintenance, repairs, etc.
- Assist the Executive Team with equipment procurement and sale analysis as needed
- Develop equipment ownership cost data to help the company establish proper ownership costs and equipment rates
- Develop relationships with local and national vendors for equipment procurement and service
- Assist the Senior Executive Team with annual CAPEX decisions
- Supervise mechanics, assistant mechanics, mechanic helpers, and laborers in the shop and on projects
- Work hands-on with mechanics and others to ensure shop and yard operations meet project needs
- Inspect equipment arriving and departing from the shop/yard to ensure it's in good working condition
- Manage effective equipment maintenance programs for all equipment assets
- Organize, operate, and maintain the shop to improve productivity and cost efficiency
