Role Overview: Utility Engineer (Utility Coordinator)
As a Utility Engineer at UIG, you will be responsible for supporting and coordinating all aspects of utility relocation efforts on large-scale infrastructure projects. You will work closely with joint venture teams, subcontractors, and third-party utility companies to ensure relocation designs, schedules, and documentation are properly managed and executed in accordance with project requirements.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with developing and reviewing utility relocation plans alongside design engineers for joint venture projects.
- Organize and manage plan sets by work scope using BOX or other JV tracking platforms.
- Track and file utility correspondence and submittals in project systems.
- Manage utility relocation subcontractors under contract.
- Coordinate with external utility providers to ensure timely and compliant relocations.
- Submit and track material and shop drawing approvals.
- Maintain accurate utility relocation schedules and records.
- Track labor, equipment, materials, and quantities using COINS, including CTC forecasting, equipment and staffing schedules.
- Assist Project Managers with three-week lookahead schedules and planning related to utility scopes.
- Verify quantities and assist in preparing owner pay estimates and billing documentation.
- Maintain and update project logs, meeting minutes, and action items.
- Support schedule updates in Primavera P6, particularly for utility relocation timelines.
- Assist in preparing project change orders, claims, and cost analysis.
- Supervise field engineers and administrative staff related to utility scope.
- Code, submit, and track invoices to the Accounting department.
- Verify and confirm subcontractor billings with Joint Venture administrators.
- Provide support for project pursuits and design-build opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and COINS project management software.
- Strong interpersonal and administrative skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Effective communicator and team player with a proactive, results-driven attitude.
- Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed (multi-state opportunities).
