CMDB Administrator (3-5 Years' Experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain the CMDB to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and reliability.
- Regularly audit the CMDB to identify and resolve inconsistencies or outdated data.
- Manage the lifecycle of configuration items (CIs), ensuring updates are timely and reflect changes in the IT environment.
- Create and manage reports, dashboards, and insights to provide visibility into configuration data.
- Ensure compliance with data governance standards and organizational policies.
- Implement and manage discovery tools to automate the identification and population of configuration data.
- Configure workflows, rules, and data models to improve the efficiency of CMDB operations.
- Integrate the CMDB with ITSM/ITOM processes like Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
- Work closely with IT teams to understand their needs and align the CMDB to support their objectives.
- Assist teams in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to the CMDB or related ITSM processes.
- Provide training, documentation, and support to ensure effective use of the CMDB across teams.
Technical Skills:
- Proven experience as a CMDB Administrator or in a similar role managing CMDBs within ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Ivanti).
- Familiarity with ITIL practices, especially in Incident, Change, Problem, and Asset Management.
- Strong skills in maintaining data integrity and troubleshooting data discrepancies.
- Experience with discovery tools, integrations, and scripting to automate processes.
- A detail-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse teams.
