Job Description: The Agronomy Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of tasks associated with fertilizer and chemical applications for the assigned branch. In this key role, you will ensure that quality, cost-effective services are delivered to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Manages all aspects of the agronomy contract, both self-performed and subcontracted.
- Diagnoses primary shrub and turf problems and basic pest identification, as well as perform the chemical and fertilizer application.
- Perform regular inspections of our customers landscaped areas to identify deficiencies in Agronomic quality related items.
- On a regular and recurring basis, follow-up to ensure results are achieved to control weeds and pests in the landscape.
- Maintain proper documentation as required by The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
- Manages the organization’s resources, including equipment and materials, ensuring good housekeeping and preventive agronomy practices are followed.
- Purchasing of all Ag products and the proper accounting of these materials to specific jobs.
- Develops and retains an agronomy staff comprised of experienced, highly trained, and professional team members.
- Provides hands on training to Spray Techs to ensure pesticides, fertilizers, and herbicides are applied at the labeled rates and methods.
- Develops crew schedules and routes with a focus on efficiency.
- Monitors landscape health and needs.
- Ensures clients are highly satisfied and while budget and contractual obligations are met or exceeded.
- Two to three years of experience in Fertilization and Chemicals, leading multiple technicians and properties required.
- FDACS Certified Pest Control Operator (Lawn and Ornamental).
- Prior Landscape or Construction Industry experience preferred.
- Exceptional client-service skills and a keen sense of ownership of responsibilities.
