What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Planning/ BCCS Coordinator position at United Medical Centers?
Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Nurses and the Clinical Nursing Coordinator and in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer, assists in the implementation of the Family Planning/BCCS Program as per regulations from the Health and Human Services Commission. Performs all the functions required of a Family Planning/BCCS technician/BCCS patient navigator. Responsible for ensuring appropriate billing procedures and accurate claim submissions in accordance to FPP and BCCS fiscal guidelines. Responsible for inventory control related to Family Planning/BCCS supplies and medications. Responsible for community education of Family Planning/BCCS and assists in developing Family Planning/BCCS outreach programs. Conducts performance implement activities, such as chart reviews, to ensure compliance with grant and federal documentation guidelines. Responsible for orientation and training of staff, including new providers, as it relates to Family Planning/BCCS services. Responsible for demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including demonstrating the knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Must be able to identify and categorize age specific needs of each client such as those for adolescent, adult and geriatric groups. Must be EHR and BCCS state EHR system proficient. Responsible for compliance with other requirements affecting the clinic such as State/Federal regulations, TJC standards and Compliance Standards. Requirements:EDUCATION REQUIRED/ EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate from an accredited school of vocational nursing. Current license to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse for the State of Texas. Graduate from an accredited vocational training program for medical assistants. Certification or registration as Medical Assistant required. Computer and clerical experience required. Prior experience in Family Planning/BCCS related services preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
