Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join our team in a long term care, skilled nursing, Adult Care facility. The ideal candidate will have experience in various cleaning tasks and maintaining a tidy environment. If you are passionate about cleanliness and take pride in your work, we want to hear from you. As a valued team member, our housekeepers play a critical role in infection control and creating a clean, homelike environment. Housekeepers are responsible for maintaining the established standards of cleanliness of the campus by performing the following duties in resident rooms, baths, halls, dining rooms, family rooms, and other designated areas:
Duties
- Washes beds (bedframes, remote control, head and footboards) and mattresses.
- Sweeps, scrubs, mops floors and moldings.
- Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, draperies and shades.
- Dusts/cleans furniture and non-medical equipment ie. TV’s, over bed tables, remotes etc.
- Polishes metalwork ie. pipes, faucets, over bed table frame.
- Washes walls, wallboard, ceilings, and woodwork.
- Cleans under and behind furniture once every week minimum.
- Washes windows, sills, doors, and door handles.
- Empties and cleans waste baskets.
- Transports trash and biohazard waste to disposal areas.
- Keeps Janitor closets, storage rooms, and housekeeping carts in clean and orderly condition.
- Replaces privacy curtains when soiled and on twice yearly routine change over.
- Rotates in laundry as needed.
- Understand and follow all HIPAA Guidelines.
- Clean and sanitizes all assigned areas, resident rooms, bathrooms and common/shared areas in accordance with infection control guidelines.
- Adheres to all infection control standard precautions including personal protective equipment use.
- Cleans, discards outdated and spoiled food, and records temperatures on personal resident refrigerators weekly.
- Plunges clogged toilets and communicates more extensive issues to Plant Operations.
- Performs hot water flushes of sinks once weekly in assigned area. (ECM Stationary housekeepers only)
- Responds to campus emergencies.
- Reports any observed changes or concerns regarding residents behavior or health status to Unit Manager/RN Supervisor/Floor Nurse or appropriate manager.
- Reports safety concerns and maintenance issues to supervisor.
- Completes all assigned education in learning management system timely.
- May serve as a member of quality assurance or safety committees.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in housekeeping or a related field
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques and safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks
- Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and residents
-Must be able to move/lift at least 50 pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.50 - $15.75 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
