United Methodist Homes, a non-profit senior living organization serving its -140-year mission to provide relationship-centered care, is currently seeking a Full-Time Housekeeping Porter to work on our Wesley Village campus located in Shelton, CT in our Assisted Living Community: Wesley Heights.
Full Time Housekeeping Porter, 40 hours, 7am-3pm shift.
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Porter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of our facilities. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to perform various custodial and maintenance tasks. The Porter will ensure that all areas are clean, safe, and welcoming for both employees and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine internal cleaning and general maintenance of floors, buffing, mopping, cleaning carpets and trash removal in a timely and effective manner.
- Assist in industrial cleaning tasks to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of cleanliness.
- Adhere to safety protocols while performing all duties.
- Collaborates with all staff to maintain the safety and security of all who reside, visit, or work in the facility.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Porter, janitorial or in a similar custodial role is preferred.
- Ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of floor care techniques, including buffing and polishing.
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning practices is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Must have a active Driver's License.
- Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background check, including physical and drug screen.
