Status: Flexible | Per Diem

Rate of Pay: Starting at $19.50, rate is based on years of experience. 

Hours | Schedule: Work a minimum of 4 shifts per month, based on needs of the department. Two (2) shifts must be on a weekend. 

Location | Department: Chelsea Retirement Community | Assisted Living/Memory Care | Glazier Commons & Towsley Village

 

Overview:

Join our team as a Direct Care Supervisor where you’ll lead and inspire by supervising care team members, ensuring high-quality, resident-focused care. You’ll serve as a resource for teamwork and provide meaningful guidance, making a real difference in the lives of residents and their families.

What you’ll do:

  • Ensures the supervision of caregivers performing all activities of daily living in accordance with the residents’ individual service plan (ISP).
  • Guarantees that the facility is always operating with the appropriate staffing levels.
  • Collaborate with providers such as physicians, home care, hospice, etc. to meet resident needs. 
  • Processes medication orders from physicians and/or nurse practitioners. 
  • Conducts on-the-job training as necessary and coordinates workflow to best suit the needs of the residents. 
  • Complete the Resident Assessment intake/admission process for new residents. 
  • Monitors and ensures that incident reports are completed and reported per policy and procedure. 
  • Support and assist personnel by providing feedback, coaching and other Positive Approach techniques to assist in identifying and implementing solutions to better meet the needs of residents.

 

What it takes:

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Education consistent with that of a Medical Assistant/Technician or Nurse Aide (Certified Nurse Aide), required. 
  • Experience consistent with that of a Medical Assistant/Technician, EMS, or caregiving preferred. 
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Medications, Pharmacology and Body Structure and Function required. 
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience is preferred. 
  • Previous hands-on experience and training on injections and wound care and the ability to successfully pass a competency evaluation by an RN 
  • Education consistent with that of a Medical Assistant required. 
  • CPR certification must be attained within 90 days of hire. 
  • Must be able to safely lift, push, pull, and carry up to a minimum of50 lbs. Anything heavier than 50 lbs. must require assistance or assistive equipment for tasks to be performed safely.
