Overview
The Independent Living Manager oversees the daily functions of Chelsea Retirement Community Independent Living, ensuring a vibrant, engaging, and supportive environment for residents. This role involves developing and implementing programs, managing team members, and maintaining high standards of service to enhance residents’ quality of life and independence.
What you’ll do
Leadership and Management
- Provide leadership and direction to team members.
- Oversight of day-to-day operations.
- Develop and implement systems and guidelines to ensure consistent and successful practices in all aspects of operations along with the Executive Director.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate team members.
- Assist with developing and monitoring budget, policies and procedures.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Ensure the residents’ physical environment is safe, clean, and well-maintained.
Resident Services
- Coordination and oversight of a comprehensive range of services and amenities.
- Manages the move in process for residents to ensure a comprehensive and enjoyable experience.
- Provides a thorough welcoming experience for new residents.
- Respond promptly to residents' requests, concerns, and feedback.
- Facilitate communication between residents, families, and team members.

What it takes
- Bachelor’s degree with education and/or experience in the aging process and health promotion, hospitality, or community management preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience implementing multiple complex programs.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience, budget management and demonstrated leadership with cross-functional teams.
- Community management experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of the appropriate skills for communicating with individuals of all ages, especially the geriatric population.
- Ability to use computers, including Microsoft Suite, required.
