MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer| Department: Engineering | Reports to: Engineering Manager  |   FLSA Status: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing Engineer will work with the engineering, quality, procurement, and production teams to address manufacturing processing operations. This position requires a hands-on individual capable of working on and monitoring many tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. You are a true artisan, have an eye for detail, and take pride and ownership in your work. A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering, or technical training and responsibility in equivalent role(s) in place of a degree. The ideal candidate has spent 3 years in manufacturing, and experience in the A&D Industry is a plus.

Qualifications

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interpret contractual requirements to develop production methods, detailed work instructions, and BOMs, then hand off to production personnel for the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of hardware
• Create, review, and update Manufacturing Outlines and Work Order Documents from the original contract as necessary
• Drive rapid improvement of observed manufacturing issues and establish processes and procedures to ensure consistently high quality and efficiency.
• Experience evaluating Engineering Drawings and interpreting engineering standards
• Design new equipment and fixtures as needed to validate product design and manufacturing processes
• Work with design to ensure manufacturability of new products
• Work with engineering, managers, and shop floor personnel

WHAT YOU BRING TO UPC:

• Good communication skills
• Possession of organized work habits and ability to multi-task
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Proficient with office software

Preferred

• CAD software and proficiency in solid modeling are plus
• Experience using ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Space and/or Defense manufacturing experience
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university

• Must be able to remain stationary 80% of the time.
• Must be able to occasionally move about inside a warehouse and office to access files, office/warehouse machinery, etc.
• Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information.

WORKING CONDITIONS:                                            

Work is generally performed in an office/warehouse environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. No special coordination beyond those used for normal mobility, handling of everyday objects and materials, and use of office equipment is necessary to perform the job satisfactorily.

Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
