The Housing Assistant plays a vital role in supporting individuals and families in securing stable housing. This position involves working closely with clients and site management to assess their needs, provide guidance, and facilitate access to resources. Duties
- Assist onsite staff with training and completion of government required submissions.
- Training of onsite staff
- Processing of local housing changes.
- Management and upkeep of tenant records and documentation.
- Review and submit monthly government funding requirements.
- Conduct assessments to determine eligibility for housing programs and services.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to train staff for their housing journey.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and progress using OneSite software.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate with social work professionals and community organizations.
- Support the management of properties under the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, HUD, and USDA Rural Housing
Qualifications
- Experience in property management or government housing programs is preferred, but not necessary
- Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations, or willingness to obtain Fair Housing Certification.
- Familiarity with crisis management strategies and techniques.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to apply motivational interviewing techniques in client interactions.
- Experience with OneSite software is a plus but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written skills.
- Training experience a plus
- Must be Microsoft office efficient.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
