Commissioning Manager

URE is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Commissioning Manager to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and participating in the commissioning process, ensuring that all systems and components of our solar projects are meticulously installed, rigorously tested, and operated in accordance with operational requirements. This role is pivotal to the successful delivery and performance of our solar projects.

Essential Responsibilities :
Commissioning Team Management :
Oversee and manage the commissioning team, ensuring efficient resource allocation and task assignment.Develop and implement training programs and continuing education opportunities to enhance staff skills and knowledge.Monitor and evaluate the performance of commissioning staff, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies during commissioning activities.Promote a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging staff to seek innovative solutions and best practices including continuing educational opportunities.Commissioning Support :
Review contracts, subcontracts, and project drawings to ensure contracted deliverables are understood and met.Lead the commissioning team in the execution of commissioning activities.Manage commissioning scopes across multiple projects, including electrical testing and troubleshooting.Maintain detailed records of the commissioning process, including test results and compliance with industry standards.Schedule Maintenance :
Work with Project Managers to create site-specific commissioning schedules, plans, testing documents and start-up procedures.Lead weekly meetings with internal QAQC and Commissioning Personnel to identify priorities and forecast a two-week look ahead schedule.Ensure all commissioning activities are completed on time and in compliance with contractual obligations.Plan Development :
Create comprehensive commissioning plans.Coordinate activities with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.Execute, maintain, and enforce safety procedures and protocols.Stakeholder Communication :
Facilitate effective communication between all stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and project teams.Address any concerns and ensure alignment throughout the commissioning process.Continuous Improvement :
Identify opportunities for process improvements.Implement changes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the commissioning process.Documentation and Tools :
Maintain comprehensive documentation of all commissioning activities including the management of commissioning logs and equipment checklists.Utilize appropriate tools and software to manage schedules and records.Field Work :
Perform field work as required to support commissioning activities.Qualifications :
Relevant bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical, or related fields or equivalent industry experience.5 years of experience as an Electrical Superintendent, Commissioning Manager, or equivalent in utility-scale solar renewable energy.Must possess OSHA 30 and NFPA 70E Certifications.Possesses extensive knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of photovoltaic solar design and technical standards, encompassing civil, structural, low and medium voltage electrical systems, as well as communication systems.Excellent time management, leadership, and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.Proficiency in maintaining detailed records and schedules.Proficiency in project management software and tools. Procore experience is a plus!Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.Willingness to travel as required.Approved to work in the USA.Valid driver’s license.Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen & criminal background check.Location :
May spend time at URE’s main office in Cumming, GA and satellite location in Asheville, NC. With a home office being the primary working location.Position requires ~50% Travel to various project locations.Preference is given to candidates in the Southeast & Northeast regions.Salary and Benefits :
