Here's a summary of responsibilities :
The Health Care Services Provider (HCSP) - Physical Therapy Fellow will work closely with the Sr. Health Care Services Provider - PT will provide injury and illness evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of athletes to support sustained competitive excellence. The Fellow will complete all Fellowship educational and mentoring requirements and , upon assignment, serve in the capacity of Sports Medicine staff at USOPC-sponsored events.
Here's how you'll have an impact :
Complete all Fellowship requirements , including participation in assigned educational, didactics, venue coverage, mentorship opportunities , and standard clinical practice hours.Coordinate and execute special projects related to the educational experience and Sports Medicine needs. At least one project is to be completed and submitted for presentation at a national conference.Deliver high-performance medical care as a m ultidisciplinary team member for athletes and NGBs as assigned. Health care includes emergency care, examin ing and evaluating injuries and illnesses, and developing and applying care plans to include rehabilitation programs through active care, therapeutic modalities, manual treatments, and Athlete 360.Perform as a high performance medical team member and participate in the functions and activities essential to clinic operations. Assist in developing and maintaining professional working relationships with Sport Performance partners, NGBs, coaches, athletes, and others to maintain and enhance athletes' performance, health, and well-being.Participate in the daily care of athletes, including performance-enhancing, preventative, routine, and rehabilitative care.Provide for patient care activities as needed in accordance with the licensure, scope of practice, standards , and functions of thei r professional licensure, job description, and standards for appropriate practice, including clinical competency and documentation.Gain and maintain knowledge of up-to-date techniques in enhancing, preventing, caring for, and rehabilitating athletic injuries.Record and enter athlete medical data into the Electronic Medical Record system promptly to maintain athlete medical records.Operate and maintain equipment as permitted by and in accordance with local and state regulations.Maintain active licensure and compliance with medical / legal requirements for the States of employment and any other States where the individual supports the USOPC or NGB at sporting events or activities.To ensure maximum sports performance for each athlete, we must maintain compliance with the IOC, WADA, USADA, and the Olympic and Paralympic Code .Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective :
When applicable, State licensure in the field of expertise must be obtained and continuously maintained throughout employment. No infractions or disciplinary sanctions are acceptable before or during employment.Documented experience working with elite high-performance athletesMinimum 1 year of clinical experience in sports medicine after licensureMaster's degree in Physical TherapyState Licensure for the state of employmentABPTS-Certified Sports or Orthopedics Clinical Specialist (SCS or OCS) or certification of completion of a Physical Therapy Residency Program (Sports or Orthopedics)Current Health Care Provider CPR certificationDocumented manual therapy experienceElectronic Medical Record experienceExcellent oral and written communication skillsWorking knowledge of Word and Excel computer programsMust possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse population including, but not limited to, athletes, coaches, administrative staff, physicians, volunteers, and other medical personnelKnowledge in the areas of :Injury / illness prevention and treatment
