Position Description
U.S. Soccer is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Audience Insights & Engagement Manager to join our Insights team within the Commercial arm of U.S. Soccer. This role will partner with Marketing to lead the day-to-day tactical engagement with current and prospective U.S Soccer customers (Insiders, Ticketing, Retail, etc.). This role will be responsible for data analysis, reporting, visualization, and insight generation to optimize fan engagement efforts and drive revenue. The ideal candidate will have B2C experience using engagement data from various sources to inform sophisticated marketing campaigns that leverage automation and deliver relevant messaging at the right time through the right channel.
The Insights team’s goal is to deepen our understanding of USMNT and USWNT fans and inform the strategy/tactics behind every touchpoint with them (Ticketing, Content, Retail, Insiders, Media, Partner Activations, and more).
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior marketing leaders as an analytics liaison and thought partner
- Analyze marketing and first-party data to evaluate campaign performance, identify trends, insights, and audience opportunities that inform marketing and fan engagement strategies
- Build and maintain dashboards, connecting multiple data sources, to provide commercial stakeholders with real-time fan analytics
- Develop and deliver recurring reports that measure fan engagement and effectively communicate performance drivers
- Collaborate with data engineering to outline marketing data needs
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, STEM, or other analytical field
- At least 4 years of experience in roles focused on marketing analytics, digital analytics, business intelligence, and/or audience insights
- Demonstrable strategic thinking – consistently sees the big picture, where to go, and how to get there
- Sharp analytical skills – methodologically sound, extreme attention to detail, and an eye for finding the signal within the noise
- Technical – Proficient in querying customer/transactional data from cloud-based data warehouses using SQL
- Advanced BI (Tableau or Power BI) and Excel skills (IF functions, macros, array formulas)
- Expertise in using Customer Data Platforms or Marketing Orchestration software to segment customers and program marketing journeys across email/text/push
- Experience partnering with marketing teams, marketing campaigns, marketing data, and marketing attribution
- Proven understanding of web and social media analytics tools and metrics (Google Analytics, Blinkfire, Meltwater)
- Familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce
- General knowledge of soccer
- Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments
- Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
Desired Qualifications
- Intermediate Python or R skills
- Proficiency with RESTful APIs
- Strong knowledge of data usage in sports and sports business
- Passion for soccer and a solid understanding of the soccer landscape in the United States
