Description of Position: A program analyst in the J821 integrates technical and programmatic information from USSPACECOM program areas and missions to develop and advocate for the commander’s priorities through the Planning, Programming, Budget, and Execution process. We are a team of premier requirements managers, planning, organizing, and determining necessary policies, regulations, directives, programs, doctrine, and procedures to support system allocation, modernization, force management and analysis to include integrating, coordinating, prioritizing, and advocating for USSPACECOM future concepts, mission capability needs, weapon systems development, support for emerging technologies and command and control architecture across the mission areas.
Position Duties/Responsibilities:
- Represent J82 as the subject matter expert for your assigned portfolio in all assigned working groups, meetings, planning conferences, senior engagements, and command tasks. Act as lead AO at relevant PPBE-related meetings, providing timely and accurate technical and operational analysis and assessments.
- Coordinate J8 division input and communicate to OSD CAPE the USSPACECOM priorities. Participate in senior leader, joint staff, and congressional engagements as required to further advocacy efforts.
- Prepare after action reports, executive summaries, ghost emails, memorandums, and other correspondence on behalf of Commander USSPACECOM to support the Commander’s operational and future requirements.
- Develop and nurture cross-organizational and service relationship through participation in conferences, exercises/wargames, and other networking engagements.
- Leverage SMEs across the commander to support requirements for Integrated Priority List, Unfunded Priority List, and Program Budget Review requirements.

- Polished briefing skills and the ability to convey complex topics succinctly to senior management required
- Ability to cooperate closely with a tight-knit team in a fast-paced and responsive environment

Qualification Requirements:
- At least 1 Year experience at the next lower broadband/grade level (or equivalent) in performing program analysis and activities within the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) cycle.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Security Clearance. Position requires the ability to be accessed to Special Access Programs
- Position requires drug testing
- Occasional travel away from the regular duty location may be required.
- May be required to work irregular duty hours including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
