Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to lead and oversee various projects within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management methodologies and tools, with a focus on delivering results on time and within scope. This role requires excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills to effectively manage cross-functional teams and drive project success.
Duties
- Responsible for thorough understanding of each project’s definition, scope, goals, and deliverables
- Responsible for execution and improvement of project schedules, budgets, and technical performances
- Lead planning and implementation of project
- May manage multiple projects in various stages of completion, depending upon size and complexity
- Work with assigned Associate Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers; communicate all project requirements and responsibilities
- Manage timelines and performance
- Define project tasks and resource requirements and effectively utilize each team member’s skill sets
- Proactively communicate project status, issues, and risks to SME management
- Follow United Steel policies, procedures, and methodologies
- Conduct formal/informal status meetings with all concerned stakeholders (e.g., general contractor, owner, architect, SME office and field personnel, and subcontractors)
- Manage project budget
- Prepare and negotiate all project change orders
- Manage and coordinate all shop drawings, field drawings, and all other project details with general contractor, United Steel field personnel, and other involved parties
- Effectively utilize United Steel's internal resources to maintain a safe work environment for all personnel during all phases of the project
- Prepare scope of work assessments and manage all quotes from outside subcontractors
- Select and manage cost-effective subcontractors and negotiation of all project contracts
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Proven experience in program development and IT project management.
- Proficiency in using SharePoint for project documentation and collaboration.
- Familiarity with Workday for resource management and reporting.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure successful project execution.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
