Job Description:
The Surgical Institute of Reading, an affiliate of United Surgical Partners International, offers a high-quality service-oriented environment for surgical patients. Our state-of-the-art facility has four operating rooms and one procedure room, allowing surgeons to perform procedures in specialty areas such as anesthesia, gynecology, orthopedic, orthopedic foot & ankle, pain management, plastic surgery, podiatry, general, and spinal surgery.
- Up to $5,000 sign-on bonus available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures.
- Assist the circulating nurse and surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment.
- Gather necessary surgical supplies and equipment.
- Perform sponge, needle, and instrument count pre-operatively and intra-operative with the circulating nurse.
- Gown and glove surgeons and assistants.
- Retain all specimens to be sent to pathology, confirming source/name of specimen with surgeon.
- Transport surgical equipment to appropriate cleaning areas.
- Interact effectively with patients and others regardless of age or ethnic background.
- Use Standard Universal Precautions and safe practices to ensure personal safety and a safe environment.
