POSITION SUMMARY : We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Staff Speech Pathologist, Bellevue Hospital. In this role, the successful candidate Provides speech-language pathology services independently.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Perform evaluation of inpatients and outpatients with speech, language, voice and swallowing disorders.
- Perform and interpret modified barium swallow examinations independently.
- Perform and interpret fittings and refitting of tracheoesophageal protheses as needed, independently.
- Treat patients with speech , language, voice and swallowing disorders.
- Guides, informs and counsels families with response to communication, swallowing and voice disorders and progress in treatment.
- Attend evaluation conferences and rounds to discern progress and prognosis of patients under treatment, as appropriate.
- Documents in accordance with departments protocols.
- Willingness to adhere to flexible work schedule, if needed.
- Provide in-service training as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : To qualify you must have a MA / MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology; NYS License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS : Knowledge of Spanish a plus.
