Community Planning and Initiatives
Position: CI Volunteer Coordinator
Reports To: VP, Community Initiatives
Job Summary
Coordinates the CI Volunteer and Meals on Wheels programs. Works closely with the program directors to identify volunteer needs and recruits, trains and manages volunteer opportunities for the CI department. Ensures effective and efficient operation of the MOW program and maintains a professional and cooperative working relationship with other agencies and the community.
Responsibilities
- Develops, recruits and manages volunteer program for all CI programs
- Maintains a volunteer database for volunteers
- Provides supervision to the MOW staff and ensures contract standards are met
- Ensures volunteer database is maintained timely for program reporting
- Represents Community Initiatives at committee meetings
- Participates in quarterly CQI meetings
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Knowledge & Skills
- Volunteer coordinator experience
- Ability to prioritize, effectively manage time and multitask
- Excellent program management, organizational skills are essential
- Computer experience with Microsoft operations and ability to integrate specialized management databases
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Be self-directed with ability to make judgments and function independently
- Proven ability to work in a team-based environment
Education
Bachelors preferred but not required
Experience
Minimum 2 years relevant professional work experience preferred
Other
- Regular office environment with occasional overtime.
- Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance.
