Position Summary

United Way of Central Indiana recognizes that the key to success is a strong and cohesive team that works through shared values to achieve our mission. The role of Senior Manager of Data & Technology is key to shaping the data and technology strategy of the Volunteer Headquarters Pilot. This role requires expeditious strategic thinking, technical expertise, and innovative approaches for techno-centric, secure, and scalable volunteer engagement and management.

Position Duties & Responsibilities

  • Data Strategy: Inform development and lead implementation of a comprehensive data strategy aligned with VHQ iterative goals, focusing on optimizing data collection, analysis, and reporting. Work closely with VHQ Team to define data priorities and performance metrics. Establish governance practices to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and privacy of data.
  • Technology: Work closely with VHQ Team to design technology systems to align with VHQ objectives while meeting security and compliance standards. Create integrated analytical data systems to enhance platform workflows with the ability to pivot as initiative iterations necessitate change. Develop responsive dashboards with real-time updates and gamify features. Work cross-functionally to develop print and digital technology training resources. Advise VHQ leadership of new technology trends and tools to enhance and improve performance, analytics, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Collaboration: Communicate complex data insights and technologies to non-technical stakeholders through co-created workflows and training of VHQ staff and partner organizations. Co-create roadmaps for data and technology systems, setting clear milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Communication: Be knowledgeable about VHQ objectives and be an effective and compelling communicator of the same to advance engagement and brand value.
  • Perform special assignments and other work, on an as-needed basis.

Education And/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or minimum of 4 years’ experience in computer science, data science, information technology, business analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience with Hands on Connect, Salesforce database or other similar volunteer management and CRM systems preferred.
  • Advanced experience with AI technologies, predictive analytics, data security, database management and performance, and integration platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience with and enjoyment of fast-paced and iterative experimental technology initiatives.
  • Highly skilled in data visualization tools, gamification, and business intelligence platforms.
  • Effective time management and multitasking abilities are required to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are crucial for success.
  • Work experience may substitute for education requirements on a case-by-case basis.

Salary Range: Low 70’s to low 80’s
