Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Communications-Marketing & Events Director to join our team. This key role will oversee and implement comprehensive marketing and communications strategies for UWCEMO, including supporting our annual campaign and various community initiatives. The ideal candidate will be creative, results-driven, and capable of leading marketing efforts that align with our mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute year-round marketing and communications strategies.
  • Creative Direction: Provide creative direction and produce materials supporting the annual campaign and other United Way programs.
  • Media Relations: Pursue media coverage, write press releases, opinion pieces, and schedule interviews.
  • Social Media & Web: Oversee the website and manage the social media strategy to ensure consistent engagement.
  • Fundraising Support: Contribute to non-traditional fundraising efforts and event planning.
  • KPI Reporting: Develop, review, and report on key marketing performance indicators.
  • Event Support: Work closely with the President and team to support special events, public relations activities, and community outreach.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of nonprofit principles and marketing strategies.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including crafting clear, concise, and persuasive content for reports, proposals, and marketing materials.
  • Strong relationship-building abilities with stakeholders, team members, and community partners.
  • Strategic planning expertise, with the ability to develop and implement impactful strategies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and relevant marketing technologies.
  • Social media expertise to effectively engage and communicate with audiences.

  • Ability to lead meetings effectively, ensuring productivity and engagement.

  • Creative problem-solving skills to offer innovative solutions.
  • Ability to balance independent work with team collaboration.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in marketing, fundraising, public relations, or development.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position, with some flexibility. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. This is an exempt position with a salary commensurate with experience.
