Family Resource Specialist

Resource Navigator Responsibilities:

Ø Offer guidance on connectivity, devices, and digital skills to community residents

· Ensure families have access to free or low-cost devices

· Ensure families are connected to low-cost connectivity services

· Ensure participants attend digital skills workshops

Ø Create asset map to identify the resources available to the community

· Maintain data up to data with periodical reviews with partners/providers to ensure they are still providing the assistance to residents

· Identify various resource guides such as 211, the social service guide maintained by the County of Union

· Research local service providers and resources available to address the needs of the community

Ø Coach families in the completion of digital applications for health insurance, social services, etc.

· Ensuring client eligibility

· Completing intakes, collecting required documentation, and helping clients prepare documents for uploading

· Maintain detailed files for each client ensuring confidentiality

Ø Conduct outreach to identify potential residents that can benefit from the Navigator’s support

Ø Attend community events to:

· Learn about other community resources available to the community

· Share information about connectivity services, access to hardware at free or no cost, and to recruit residents that can benefit from foundational digital skills workshops

· Work closely with UWGUC staff responsible for marketing and communications to create and maintain a social media campaign designed to inform the community about the available resources, and supports

· Coordinate a series of foundational digital skills workshops in English and Spanish, and Creole

Ø Reporting

· Collect data as prescribed by the various funding organizations

· Create reports as required by UWGUC and funding organizations

Ø Marketing

· Assist with placing orders for marketing and promotional materials for distribution at events

· Create flyers, and other marketing materials

Ø Function as the liaison between the Success Center and the Digital Navigation Program to ensure the needs of Union County residents are met.

· Call UWGUC’s existing clients to offer services

· Maintain log of calls, and residents served

· Supports the day-to-day activities at the Center, including welcoming families, monitoring, and tracking usage of the computer lab, etc.

· Assist in the completion of online emergency financial assistance applications.

· Assist with maintaining program files to ensure funder compliance

· Translate for families as needed

Education. Associates Degree in a related field, or High School Diploma with experience working with vulnerable families.

Knowledge and Abilities. Bilingual Spanish and English and or Bilingual Haitian Creole and English. Must be willing to travel around Union County and have a reliable transportation. Two years experience working with vulnerable communities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
