Executive Director, United Way of Indiana County Job Posting
The United Way of Indiana County (UWIC) has an immediate opportunity to welcome our next Executive Director. The Executive Director is a mission-driven leader rooted in the community impact needs of Indiana County. Our Executive Director will succeed through effective leadership of the UWIC staff, collaboration with the UWIC Board of Directors, relationships with donors and volunteers, and partnership with community leaders in order to improve the quality of life for the residents of Indiana County.
With primary responsibilities including board development, fundraising, funding allocations, leadership of team and oversight of general operations, the Executive Director must possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Nonprofit Leadership, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in management of a nonprofit agency, or similar experience. Demonstrated experience with agency operations, human resources, board management, organizational development, fundraising, funding allocations and community relations is required, as is a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and reliable personal transportation.
The Executive Director reports to the President of the Board of Directors.

Primary responsibilities include leadership in the areas of:
Board Development and Management:
· Helps source and onboard new board members, keeps the board informed of strategic initiatives, assists with and participates meaningfully in full board and committee meetings and drives ongoing board training and development activities.
· Regularly communicates and connects with existing and prospective board members during and outside of regularly scheduled board meetings
Fundraising and Development:
· Supports the Campaign Chairperson(s) and Director of Marketing with all campaign initiatives and ensures the ongoing success of the Workplace Campaign Program.
· Develops relationships with community leaders, donors, and sponsors.
· Manages grant proposals and develops new strategies to meet fundraising goals.
Community:
· Works in close partnership with the Community Impact committee and oversees and assists strategic community impact initiatives.
· Participates in collaborative community leadership meetings and events.
· Meets with key stakeholders and local agencies to ensure innate knowledge of the community and associated areas of need
· A collaborative leader who fosters unity and alignment amongst the board, non-staff stakeholders, key donors and partner agencies
Funding Investments/Allocations:
· Manages processes and provides direction and recommendations for funding priorities, included but not limited to annual Allocations process, partner agency allocations, summer grants program, Emergency Food and Shelter Program and State Employees Combined Appeal Campaign (SECA)
Marketing and Communications:
· Provides leadership and direction to the Director of Marketing on the development and execution of the marketing plan to include event planning, website and social/traditional media management, promotional materials, branding, public relationship and volunteer management.
Staff Leadership and Operations:
· Leads a team of administrative, marketing, and fundraising professionals and provides staff with career development opportunities and performance feedback.
· In partnership with staff, develops and manages all operational requirements, including the annual budget, policy and procedure documentation, risk management, organizational compliance (including United Way Worldwide requirements), technology needs, payroll and benefit administration, office duties, and all other duties as requested by the Board President.
