POSITION OVERVIEW:
The United Way of Massachusetts Bay seeks a Coordinator, Engagement who will embrace the work of United Way of becoming a more diverse and inclusive organization. Reporting to the Director of Engagement, the full-time Coordinator, Engagement creates opportunities for community members and corporate partners to experience the mission of UW through delivering thoughtfully curated opportunities year-round to generate support for UW. The successful candidate is excited to grow and deepen our volunteer engagement efforts both size and depth through outreach, education, events, and relationship building. In addition, candidates will be passionate about the mission of United Way to build a more economically just region.
The Coordinator, Engagement, plays an integral role on the Engagement team within the Development division. This role will provide support for tracking engagement data, triaging requests, logistical planning of opportunities, expense tracking, and stewardship. They will take initiative; experience interacting with internal and external stakeholders at all levels; handle confidential information with discretion; competent and comfortable with public speaking, strong communication skills both written and verbal, and proven follow up skills to ensure successful and timely completion of projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Engagement Management (50%)
- Track and support the planning and execution of all corporate and individual giving volunteer efforts throughout the year to support individual and group volunteering.
- Support Director of Engagement in the planning and execution of annual signature events. Tasks can include coordinating logistics for staff and attendees, tracking dollars raised, and week/day of responsibilities.
- Coordinate and support regular committee meetings related to divisional events. Tasks can include scheduling meetings, creating agendas, and taking notes.
- In partnership with Marketing team, coordinate and send communications to support recruitment, volunteer recognition, and stewardship via website, social media, email and Andar.
- Schedule and plan quarterly trainings on our software platform, Volunteer HQ, and organize materials for agency and volunteer partners.
Data Tracking (15%)
- In partnership with Development Systems team, curate reports on bi-annual engagement data that includes hours served, types of opportunities, and key demographics.
- Obtain and track accurate participant information, waivers, media releases, and consent form in database.
- Manage Engagement HQ portal and make recommendations on how to best use this to support our Divisional goals.
Team Operations & Support (20%)
- Track and upload monthly Engagement team expenses into Concur.
- Manage and track Engagement's progress against goals on a quarterly basis and individual SMARTIE goals on a monthly basis to ensure progression and success.
- Manage the Volunteer inbox and Engagement inbox in Outlook and respond to inquiries.
- Support team's projects as needed to ensure success of strategic priorities.
- Provide administrative support to Division as needed. Assist with volunteer and donor communications and various projects as may be assigned.
Relationship Building (15%)
- Represent United Way by attending corporate and community events to recruit and support key stakeholders at community events.
- Respond to and respond to all engagement inquiries with timely and accurate information to ensure we meet our engagement goals.
- Act as a liaison between engagement participants and staff to ensure positive UWMB experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant professional experience - minimum 2 years professional experience.
- Experience in project management or administrative support either in the private or nonprofit sector preferred.

- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Excel; ability to facilitate use of technology for conference calls and meetings (e.g. Microsoft Teams and Zoom).
- Experience with data management systems strongly preferred.
- Flexibility with a hybrid work model, recognizing that this position will be expected to travel to one of our offices (Beverly, Boston) twice a week and on-site/in-person for engagement events and projects.
