As the Accountant/HR Assistant, you’ll play a vital behind-the-scenes role in supporting our financial operations and human resource functions. Key Responsibilities
Accounting Duties:
- Prepare and input monthly journal entries for accounting transactions
- Reconcile and analyze employee credit card purchases
- Process and mail weekly accounts payable checks
- Maintain vendor W-9s
- Assist with recording cash receipts and provide audit backup
- Prepare monthly financial statements and budgetary comparisons
- Support the preparation of the annual budget
- Perform other duties as assigned by the President/CEO
Human Resources Duties:
- Maintain job descriptions, job openings, and recruiting sources
- Assist with accurate HR file management and documentation
- Conduct new hire orientation and assist with employee inquiries
- Process payroll and support employees with payroll-related questions
- Support special event planning and execution
- Perform other duties as assigned by the President/CEO
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in accounting, human resources, or related field preferred
- 2-5 years of accounting experience (nonprofit experience preferred)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop required
- 2 years’ experience in payroll processing or human resources (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and attend special events
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs as needed
