POSITION: Child Care Champion

REPORTS TO: Director of Early Education Initiatives at United Way of West Tennessee

OVERVIEW:

The Shared Services Alliance Child Care Champion (CCC) will be charged with the creation and development of a shared services alliance in support of local child care centers. The CCC will establish and maintain partnerships with the region’s industry partners, higher education institutions, school systems, and childcare providers to ensure the shared service alliance is effective in meeting the most urgent needs of the child care industry. The CCC will initiate relationships with multi-level decision- makers, funders, and community members through marketing campaigns, in-person contacts, and presentations. The CCSS Manager will provide access, training and support on the ChildcareMatters automated platforms and other solutions to childcare providers to strengthen business operations and save time and money as they build strong early childhood businesses.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties shall include, but are not limited to:

  • Recruit, onboard, train and support clients (substitutes, childcare centers and shared service partners) to participate in ChildCare Matters platforms
  • Communicate regularly with clients. Providing information and support and building confidence in the platforms and the alliance
  • Create and share shortcuts and tips regularly to ensure client success
  • Provide excellent customer service. Monthly “check-in” calls and email news and updates to providers in the alliance.
  • Provide technical assistance to local human resource managers on assisting their employees in finding childcare and navigating childcare subsidy programs. Maintain business partnerships for marketing and recruitment purposes.
  • Monitor platform analytics and information to inform weekly/monthly communication, training and recruitment strategies
  • Work with industry partners (CCR&R, TECTA, DHS) to create and schedule onboarding and training plan for substitutes and workforce development - ongoing
  • Compile data necessary for completion of agency, local and state reports using agency tracking tools.
  • Actively market and recruit substitutes and workforce development participants – ongoing
  • Actively market Childcare Finder platform to families, agencies, and referral sources - ongoing
  • Manage all workforce development efforts in creating and sustaining a robust substitute pool and a support service to contracting childcare programs
  • Collaborate with state agencies, training and provider services to create a “pipeline” approach to the recruitment process for both substitutes and childcare programs
  • Know and understand Tennessee state licensing regulations as they pertain to the ChildcareMatters platform and onboarding process
  • Create and disseminate materials (hard copy, online, website, etc.) that support the SharedService Alliance with hiring, onboarding, and maintenance of the platform and shared services partner relationships

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources, Business, Education, Social Work, Communications or related field
  • Moderate to high levels of computer proficiency
  • Reliable transportation
  • Excellent written and oral communication, data management, and organization skills
  • Ability to relate to a broad spectrum of community organizations
  • High energy and overall positive outlook

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to problem solve using new and innovative ideas
  • Exposure to or experience in childcare or early education settings
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and projects under the constraints of strict deadlines and time pressures
  • Strong verbal and written communication; active listener
  • Human Resources/Business acumen, professional attitude
  • Skills in basic marketing and graphic design
  • Ability to collect and compile data, and perform data entry
  • Highly organized with attention to detail
  • Deadline driven, achieves results with little supervision

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $30.00 per hour
