Duties and
Responsibilities:
1. Ensures the accuracy of specimen processing and the quality of specimens.
2. Monitors employee performance through regular training, evaluations and counseling.
3. Maintains all relevant logs to track program efficiency.
4. Oversees the billing process.
5. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and company regulations.
6. Maintains daily workflow through proper employee scheduling and payroll review.
7. Maintain excellent working relationships with all clients and their staff by providing
excellent service and by getting involved in training and problem resolution.
8. Reviews all operational reports and logs to track program efficiency.
9. Oversees the inventory of the lab supplies and orders them as needed.
10. Monitors and ensures that testing is performed in a timely manner and results reported to
the physicians within established standards of turnaround time.
11. Develops programs to improve laboratory efficiency and cost management
12. Communicates promptly and effectively any issues, concerns, and suggestions to UWL
management and hospital lab management [if necessary].
13. Utilize and provide feedback on the web portal system as it relates to physician office
access, EMR development, and electronic result reporting.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
> Clinical Lab Technology background preferred;
> At least 5 years management/supervisory experience in a laboratory or medical field;
> Excellent customer service skills;
> Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to be flexible to changing
priorities, and to handle multiple tasks;
> Ability to schedule and plan workloads, implement systems and projects that align with
company objectives;
> Understanding of regulatory compliance and basic quality systems under CLIA and
other related standards;
> Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills;
> Solid PC experience, Microsoft Office: Excel & Word.
> Flexible with work schedules, able to work 10-12 hour shifts, evenings and regular
weekends as needed.
