What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior UX Designer position at United Wholesale Mortgage?

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Required:
- Four or more years of validated UX experience with evidence of demonstrating UX best practices
- Ability to assess visual, interactive, and experiential design quality and be able to clearly articulate those reasons to technical and non-technical team members with excellent presentation skills
- Experience with modern design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar design platform)
- Robust design portfolio reflecting individual design thinking, teamwork, and impact.
- Exemplary soft skills and relationship management aptitude including interpersonal communication
- Ability to produce useful artifacts and reference materials to support design initiatives (e.g., proposal presentations, wireframes, prototypes, mockups, live demos, etc.)
- Ability to lead projects, demonstrate strategic thinking for long-term initiatives
- Experience with training others, strong mentorship, and leadership skills
- Ability to run or facilitate ideation sessions / workshops within internal team and with cross-functional stakeholders
- Ability to support research and understand how products/services are currently used
- Ability to work 100% onsite in Pontiac, MI
Preferred:
- Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience Design, Interaction Design, related degree or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of creating and/or maintaining design systems, style guides, or pattern libraries
- Experience with mobile UX best practices
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Working knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices
- Experience with Agile methodology
- Working knowledge of mortgage and/or financial industry
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Stewardship of UWM’s Design System
- Create wireframes/mockups
- Meet with business stakeholders to understand business requirements
- Define requirements, timelines, success metrics, project scope
- Serve as an educational resource for the entire organization.
- Assist with management of UWM’s UX maturity level.
- Possess exceptional emotional intelligence and critical thinking skills.
- Proven record of problem solving.
