The Community Engagement Representative (CER) will develop meaningful relationships with key stakeholders. The CER is a community-based role aimed at developing community relationships, brand awareness and promoting the UnitedHealthcare Community Plan to help drive membership growth and retention for the Idaho Health Plan. The CER helps implement and fine-tune the Community Engagement Plan, incorporating feedback from their interactions with community-based and faith-based organizations as well as providers and other community stakeholders. Has primary responsibility for implementation of the goals, strategies, and tactics at the street level. Plans, coordinates, and implements engagement activities - stakeholder visits, programmatic work, targeted events, etc. Works with health plan staff to cultivate, leverage and maximize relationships with community-based and faith-based organizations as well as provider and other community stakeholders to achieve improved population health, health equity and member outcomes. This position will be based in / need to be near Boise.
This is a fast-paced working environment that requires the ability to multitask with attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategies to improve health outcomes in priority communities in designated regions for our members in alignment with population health, quality, and health equity priorities and deliver competitive position and drive measurable impact within assigned communities. Impact may be measured based on process and/or outcome measures and should create discernable differentiation
- Assure in depth understanding of specified geography related to member demographics, SDOH barriers and services, health outcomes, and implemented interventions by stakeholders to build relationships and understand their unique needs, strengths and resources through community events, board membership, ad hoc and advisory council meetings
- Achieve monthly stakeholder engagement goals. Ensure all outreach efforts are documented and consistently reviewed to identify best practices and areas of opportunity
- Build impactful relationships that drive engagement with community-based and faith-based organizations and providers to support community improvement efforts
- Develop and implement community-based and faith-based and provider engagement strategies (including face to face visits) in partnership with health plan, population health, quality, health equity, network, and provider relations teams.
- Secure stories, pictures and evidence of support for ongoing engagement activities
- Assure in depth understanding of market Medicaid products, value added services, benefits and state regulations
- Maintain open communication to ensure awareness of ongoing and evolving market needs and progress on the Community Engagement Plan tactic execution
- Accomplish monthly, member, community, and provider engagement goals in support of comprehensive strategy
- Support the development of procurement response to ensure differentiation and alignment with state strategy
- Gather and document feedback on locally relevant population health challenges and use this feedback with health equity and population health team to identify opportunities to support or build upon existing community-based population health improvement, community reinvestment efforts, and health equity efforts that affect our members
- Highlight and document the great work being done in the market via Salesforce, Reports and Proof Points. Complete regular reports outlining the weekly progress made and keep Salesforce up to date on a weekly basis
- Implement data driven approach to build community-based, faith-based, and provider relationships tailored to the community context and to launch programs/interventions that are hyper-local and designed for the community

Required Qualifications:
- 1 years of experience in community/provider engagement
- 1 years of experience in Medicaid and/or Medicare
- Experience developing engagement strategies and aligned implementation plans
- Experience managing multiple projects/tasks
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Ability to travel up to 75% within Idaho
- Ability to work Monday - Friday and flexibly outside core hours, including evenings and weekends, per business needs
- Resident of Idaho
Preferred Qualifications:
- Lived Medicaid and/or Medicare or related experience
- Bilingual in English / Spanish
- Established relationships with community and faith-based organizations, providers, local health officials, and other external stakeholders in defined assigned area
- Proven ability to use data to think strategically and translate strategic directives into action
- Proven ability to work autonomously and demonstrate ingenuity
- Proven collaborative style and an ability to adapt dynamically in a high development environment
- Proven exceptional people, written, verbal, analytical, organizational, problem solving, and presentation skills

The hourly range for this role is $28.61 to $56.06 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
