About the Role
The Support Specialist will work closely with families and youth to identify and develop plans to increase stability in the home. This role requires a strong understanding of the child welfare system and the ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist families and youth in developing plans to increase stability in the home
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations
- Provide support to family members in making needed appointments
- Work with the SCYP Program Manager and clinical team to implement care coordination
- Assist and support consumers and family members with grievance processes
Requirements
- 1 year of experience in the child welfare system
- Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Access to reliable transportation
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time within a 60-mile radius of the greater Detroit, MI area
