HVAC Construction Sales Representative - Plan & Spec - Owner-Direct
Unitemp, a division of United Building Solutions, has over 50 years of experience as the leading commercial and industrial HVAC project and service provider in the New Jersey and New York markets. We provide our clients with heating, air conditioning and ventilation solutions to meet the needs of their facility and people. We are looking for a skilled and motivated HVAC Construction Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales efforts in the HVAC Plan & Spec, Owner-Direct sector, working closely with clients to assess their needs, and providing tailored HVAC solutions for construction projects. You'll help grow our portfolio of commercial and industrial clients while guiding them through the design, engineering, and installation process.
Key Responsibilities :
- Sales Strategy & Development :
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan targeting HVAC Plan & Spec, Owner-Direct projects in commercial, medical, educational, pharmaceutical and industrial sectors.
Identify new business opportunities, including project leads, proposals, and tenders for HVAC systems in both retro-fit and renovation projects.Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including property developers, contractors, architects, MEP engineers, and building owners.Client Engagement & Consultations :Meet with potential clients to assess their HVAC needs, project requirements, and budgetary constraints.
Offer expert guidance on HVAC system design, energy efficiency solutions, and equipment selection tailored to client needs.Provide detailed proposals, quotes, and system specifications to clients based on their requirements & budgets.Project Coordination & Oversight :Collaborate closely with the engineering and installation teams to ensure that proposed HVAC designs are feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with project specifications.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.Monitor project progress, adjust schedules or plans as needed, and address any client concerns promptly.Negotiations & Contract Closing :Lead contract negotiations, including final pricing, terms, and scope of work.
Close sales deals and secure contracts.Ensure all contracts, terms, and agreements are clearly communicated and finalized.Market Analysis & Reporting :Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and HVAC system innovations.
Continuously assess the competitive landscape and market conditions to identify new opportunities for business growth.Report regularly to senior management on sales performance, progress towards goals, and market insights.Qualifications :
Proven experience in sales, with a strong focus on HVAC systems, construction, or design-build projects.Deep understanding of HVAC system design, installation processes, and energy efficiency standards.Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport with clients at all levels.Experience in preparing and presenting detailed proposals, budgets, and timelines for HVAC projects.Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Proficient with CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot) and basic office software (Microsoft Office Suite)Preferred Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with HVAC knowledge is a plus, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HVAC sales or HVAC design-build project management.Certifications or licensure in HVAC-related fields is a plus (e.g., NATE, LEED, etc.).Established relationships in the commercial and residential construction industries.Job Posted by ApplicantPro
