UNITS Moving & Portable Storage of Utah is seeking a versatile General Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of operations, sales, and customer service. This role is perfect for a hands-on leader who is comfortable wearing many hats in a small business environment. The General Manager will work in a hybrid capacity, splitting time between remote work, our North Salt Lake facility, and on-the-road sales throughout the Wasatch Front.

Responsibilities

Customer Service :

  • Be the first point of contact for customers, handling inquiries, booking rentals, and resolving issues.
  • Provide exceptional service to ensure customer satisfaction at every touchpoint.
  • Handle after hours calls.

Sales & Business Development :

  • Develop and maintain relationships with restoration companies, property managers, and government agencies along the Wasatch Front.
  • Conduct B2B sales presentations, cold calls, and follow-ups to promote UNITS’ services.
  • Collaborate with local businesses to create tailored solutions that meet their storage and moving needs.
  • Conduct in-person sales multiple days per week.
  • Hands-On Leadership :

  • Handle emergency deliveries when needed, including driving trucks and operating a large forklift.
  • Assist with daily operations, including container inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain safety standards and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Must be excellent at multitasking.
  • Operations & Dispatch :

  • Manage daily scheduling and dispatch of container deliveries and pickups, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Oversee warehouse operations, including organization, container maintenance, and forklift operations.
  • Qualifications

    MUST HAVE PRIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SALES EXPERIENCE.

    Customer Service Excellence : Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on creating positive experiences.

    Sales Experience : Proven ability to develop client relationships, particularly with B2B clients in restoration, property management, or government industries.

    Operational Expertise : Experience managing logistics, dispatch, or warehouse operations is a plus.

    Hands-On Attitude : Willingness to jump in wherever needed, from sales calls to container deliveries.

    Technical Skills : A general mechanical understanding. Proficient with scheduling tools, customer relationship management (CRM) software, and basic office technology.

    Valid Driver’s License : Clean driving record and ability to handle occasional container deliveries.

    Physical Requirements : Able to lift 50 lbs. and perform hands-on tasks as needed.

    Additional Information

    Compensation : Starting salary of $60,000 / year with opportunities for growth and performance-based incentives.

    Work Environment : Hybrid role with flexibility to work from home, at our North Salt Lake facility, and on the road for sales.
