Direct Service Provider (DSP) - Day Services Program

We are looking for an energetic person who brings fun and brightness to our clients coming to Day Programming. This individual will be interactive, utilizing the resources available to create an engaging experience. This includes utilizing the game room, arts & crafts, computer lab, exercise space, and participating in community outings.
This individual will also be a back-up driver for our NMT's driving routes. This comes with a $0.50/hour premium. It means you will need to be available should one of our regular drivers call-out, call-in sick, or an emergency happens. If a driver quits, you could be driving a route until we are able to hire a replacement.
The regular shift as a DSP is 8:30AM-4:30PM however if running a route you could have to be here as early as 7:30PM and stay as late as 5:00 PM (if there is traffic).
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Leading or assisting in activities and instruction
- Assist clients with toileting or changing
- Prepare meals and assist with clients with eating
- Helping load and unload clients from transportation vehicles
- Assist in using wheelchairs, walking devices and walking clients
- Help clean the kitchen, floors and disinfect all surfaces after clients leave for the day
- May need to assist as backup transportation, if short staffed
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- No more than 2 points on driving record in the last 2 years *we check driver's abstracts*
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to pass a drug screen *medical marijuana card not accepted*
- Must be able to pass a basic physical
- Previous experience in home care, day services, or nursing of one year or more
- This can be as a DSP, HHA, STNA, CNA, PCA/PCW, etc.
