Transportation Manager/Driver for Disabilities Provider

Summary

As a Transportation Manager at Unity Care Group, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our Non Medical Transport services. You will lead a team of dedicated drivers responsible for transporting clients to and from our day services program, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout their journey. This position requires strong leadership skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a deep commitment to providing high-quality transportation services. This position reports directly to the Day Program Manager.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

• Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport clients to various locations when driving route or individuals.
• Ensure the comfort and safety of clients during transit by providing assistance as needed.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe working condition.
• Maintain accurate records of transportation schedules, routes and client interactions.
• Collaborate with care staff to coordinate transportation needs effectively.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies regarding vehicle operation.
• Assist in loading and unloading clients and their belongings when necessary.
• Be the main point of contact for transportation needs, including for clients, guardians, home staff, vendors and internal company staff for transportation issues or needs.
• Provide excellent customer service, fostering a positive experience for clients and employees.
• Oversee the transportation department, including NMT drivers, routes, and company vehicles
• Ensure company vehicles are maintained to safety standards and expectation.
• Ensure all transportation staff is aware of routes, vehicles and needs.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License Required
• Client Transporting experience Required (specifically with individuals with disabilities a plus!)
• Route management or dispatch experience a plus
• Strong driving skills with a clean driving record
• Ability to drive any of the company vehicles (transit vehicles, shuttle buses, minivan, etc.)
• Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus for vehicle maintenance tasks and knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and staff and vendors
• Compassionate attitude towards working with individuals with disabilities and their challenges

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
