Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Workstation Technician to support hardware and software deployment across various departments. This role involves coordinating installations, performing equipment setups and relocations, and ensuring compliance with IT standards and policies. The ideal candidate will be experienced in desktop support, hardware troubleshooting, and IT service coordination in a fast-paced, enterprise environment.
Responsibilities:
- Configure, label, and install computers, monitors, printers, and related peripherals in accordance with organizational specifications.
- Verify and document device specifications based on purchase orders and internal standards.
- Relocate workstations and equipment as requested by departments.
- Provide on-site technical support for installations, repairs, and customer service needs.
- Serve as a liaison to other IT support teams such as Help Desk, Applications, and Asset Management.
- Assist with basic end-user training on hardware, software, and service procedures.
- Maintain and manage inventory of IT supplies and parts needed for installations or repairs.
- Collaborate with other infrastructure teams to monitor and manage parts inventory.
- Evaluate equipment per IT security policies, including proper handling, storage, and disposal.
- Document all service work in ticket tracking systems accurately and timely.
- Participate in after-hours support, on-call rotations, and special project assignments as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Two (2) years of customer service experience
- Basic knowledge of computer and network terminology (CPU, LAN/WAN, IP, DHCP, etc.)
- Familiarity with ticketing and asset tracking systems
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Physically capable of lifting 75 lbs., bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching overhead
- Ability to distinguish color-coded wires and ports
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of customer service experience supporting computers
- Associate’s degree or equivalent technical school training in IT, Electronics, or related field
- Experience in desktop support, PC deployment, or field service work
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems, imaging tools, and mobile device setup
- Prior work experience in a healthcare, clinical, or enterprise IT setting
