Appointment Scheduler - Sunnybrook Cardiology
Sioux City, Iowa
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
Responsibilities
Are you an organized and customer-focused professional? As an Appointment Scheduler at our Cardiology Clinic, you will play a critical role in managing patient appointments and coordinating schedules for our cardiologists. Your excellent communication skills and attention to detail will help us deliver seamless and efficient patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring optimal use of clinic resources.
- Handle inbound and outbound calls related to appointment scheduling and patient inquiries.
- Coordinate with cardiologists and other healthcare providers to manage appointment availability.
- Verify patient information and update electronic medical records (EMR) as needed.
- Provide patients with necessary pre-appointment instructions and information.
- Handle rescheduling and cancellations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist with insurance verification and pre-authorization processes.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical office or scheduling role, preferably in cardiology.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and scheduling software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer service-oriented with a compassionate and professional demeanor.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures is a plus.
