The Infection Preventionist (IP) is responsible for the administration of a comprehensive Infection Prevention and Control program. The Infection Prevention Program implements a multidisciplinary collaborative plan designed to prevent and control the spread of infection among patients, staff, volunteers and visitors in the healthcare setting.

Required Qualifications:
- BSN or BS in Medical Technology or Microbiology OR
- RN, Pharmacist or Medical Laboratory Technician with National Certification in Infection Control (CIC)
- Three to five years' experience in a healthcare or laboratory/clinical setting. Exceptions will be made for other relevant experience.
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to work with common computer software applications and databases
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Knowledge and application of quality improvement principles and practices
- Excellent communication skills with ability to handle diverse and complex situations
- Master of Science degree in Medical Technology, Microbiology, or Nursing, Master of Public Health degree
- Two years' experience in Infection Control
- Experience in providing staff education
- Previous experience with public health agencies
- Formal leadership experience
- National Certification in Infection Control (CIC)
- Demonstrated leadership skills
