Overview:
For Des Moines, Grinnell, and Fort Dodge regions, define comprehensive communications and marketing strategies that support UnityPoint Health’s mission and vision. Provide leadership, consultation and expertise in one or more key functional areas of marketing, public relations and/or communications to include but not limited to: media relations, public relations, special events, marketing, internal communications. Attend events on location for stated regions.

Marketing Communications Service Line Management
Qualifications:
- Participates in projects to develop communication plans, evaluation methods and creative direction.
- Work with local departments on activities to achieve business and market goals.
- Requires highly developed communication skills using independent judgement and decision making to effectively work with all levels of management throughout UnityPoint Health Des Moines’ mission and vision.
- Works independently, takes initiative and possesses good organizational abilities.
- Exercises sound judgment, seeking advice when appropriate.
- Contribute to the successful creation of marketing campaigns.
- Coordinate community special events, programs and seminars.
- Build effective relationships with the media and/or community contacts and internal stakeholders.
- Participates in projects that support communications and marketing efforts.
- This position may be assigned a specific mission to address in an emergency situation to assist in disaster response and recovery as part of the Hospital Emergency Incident Command System. Situations of a critical nature may require an individual to perform multiple tasks until additional support can be obtained.
- Performs functions other than described due to extenuating circumstances.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Emphasis in journalism, communication, public relations or marketing. preferred
- Requires 1 to 3 years of communications, public relations and/or marketing experience.
- Internship experience in a related field can be taken into consideration.
- Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
