Responsibilities
Under the direct supervisor of the Prior Authorization Supervisor: performs assigned duties, including telephonic & online support of home health authorization of routine services, contacting specialty care providers, and performing online data entry of routine authorizations/denials.
- Contact insurance providers with initial and continued authorization requests for home health services and denials, as applicable.
- Establish effective rapport and works closely with QA, HCC, Administration, Clinical, and Billing teams to ensure that all patients have authorization for services performed.
- Assists in gathering clinical information needed for insurance providers to determine need for home health services for patient.
- High School equivalent or diploma
- All staff are expected to participate in appropriate continuing education as may be requested and/or required by their immediate supervisor. In addition, staff are expected to accept personal responsibility for other educational activities to enhance job-related skills and abilities. All staff must attend mandatory educational programs.
- Proficient in Microsoft office software
- Excellent customer service skills.
