Framed within the mission and vision of UnityPoint Health – Des Moines Foundation, the Marketing Intern is responsible for assisting in the creation of collateral both print and digital for the hospitals and programs the Foundation supports. Looking for someone who can help create and communicate stories, steward donors and share impact with those who financially support our hospitals, hospice and clinics in Des Moines.

Responsibilities
- Functions as a marketing assistant to the Director of Development and Communications for UnityPoint Health – Des Moines Foundation.
- Assists in creating video for direct mail, events, donor stories and stewardship.
- Helps brainstorm, manage and execute digital strategy regarding donor communication, events, and stewardship.
- Assists with updating website and sending e-communication.
- Assists with the planning, promotion and execution of special events.
- Participates in additional duties assigned as appropriate. Presents positive image of UnityPoint Health – Des Moines as deemed appropriate.
Qualifications
- Sophomore, Junior or Senior level standing in college.
- Able to work a minimum of 10-20 hours per week in significant blocks of time.
- Able to commit to 2 year internship.
- A minimum of 3.0 GPA.
- Good computer skills are important including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. Knowledge of InDesign, I-Movie/Animoto are highly desired.
- Knowledge in digital strategy; Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
- Must be highly organized, self-directed and able to handle a variety of projects at one time.
- Must be a good team player.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Some weekend and/or evening hours may be required on a limited basis.
Education:
- Enrolled in an accredited public relations/ communications/ journalism college program working toward a four-year degree.
- Must read, write and speak fluent English.
