Position Title: Desktop Support Manager
Location: Mansfield, Texas (On-site)
Reports To: Vice President of Technology
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and service-oriented IT/Desktop Support Manager to join our team and collaborate with our existing IT Manager in providing comprehensive IT solutions across the organization. This position is crucial in supporting employee technology needs, including email, hardware, software, and specialized systems such as warehouse scanners and related software. Expertise in Microsoft Business Central and SQL is required, and familiarity with programming in C# and Python is preferred. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of IT experience and a proven ability to manage technical challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Operations and Employee Support
- Provide hands-on support for employee email systems, desktop computers, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Manage and resolve employee technology issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Oversee and maintain the functionality of office and warehouse hardware, including printers, scanners, and specialized equipment.
Warehouse Technology Support
- Maintain and troubleshoot warehouse scanning systems, including Keyence scanners and other devices.
- Support warehouse operations by ensuring software and hardware compatibility and reliability.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to address technology-related challenges and implement solutions.
Business Central Management
- Manage and enhance Microsoft Business Central systems to support organizational needs.
- Work with internal stakeholders to optimize system performance and functionality.
- Train employees on effective use of Business Central tools and features.
Database and System Administration
- Develop and maintain SQL databases to ensure data accessibility, integrity, and performance.
- Automate and streamline data management processes.
- Assist in the management of ERP upgrades, integrations, and deployments.
Programming and Automation
- Support system automation and development projects using C# or Python (preferred but not required).
- Create scripts and tools to enhance IT operations and user experience.
Collaboration and Leadership
- Work closely with the existing IT Manager to deliver aligned and efficient IT solutions.
- Report to the VP of Technology and collaborate on IT strategies and initiatives.
- Mentor junior staff and serve as a technical resource for complex issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or a related role.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Business Central, including implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Strong expertise in SQL for database management and reporting.
- Experience supporting office hardware, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Knowledge of warehouse hardware and software, particularly Keyence scanners and related systems.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with users across all levels of the organization.
- Effective time management and prioritization in handling multiple projects and tasks.
Preferred Experience:
- Programming skills in C# or Python for application development and automation.
- Experience with ERP upgrades and IT project management.
- Certifications in Microsoft Business Central, SQL Server, or related technologies.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with the automotive, manufacturing, or distribution industries is a plus.
