Position Overview:
The Product Development Catalog Research Analyst is a key member of UAC’s Catalog Team, responsible for researching OEM databases and manufacturer websites to identify new product opportunities and ensure accurate vehicle coverage for existing UAC products. This role is vital in expanding UAC’s product offerings, keeping catalog data up to date, and ensuring UAC remains a market leader in automotive A/C replacement parts.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and highly proficient in data research and management.
Key Responsibilities:OEM Research & Product Identification:
- Research OEM databases, manufacturer websites, and industry catalogs to identify new A/C and HVAC components for development.
- Analyze OEM part numbers, vehicle applications, and interchange data to support product expansion.
- Identify gaps in UAC’s catalog and recommend new product additions based on market demand and competitor analysis.
Catalog & Database Management:
- Ensure UAC’s product database is up to date, maintaining accurate vehicle application coverage for all parts.
- Cross-reference OEM part numbers, competitor catalogs, and industry databases to verify data accuracy.
- Implement ACES & PIES catalog standards to ensure seamless integration with electronic catalog providers.
Data Optimization & Technical Proficiency:
- Utilize advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables) to analyze and manage large datasets.
- Improve internal cataloging processes to enhance data accuracy and efficiency.
- Work with POLK data and other automotive research tools to validate product fitment and industry trends.
Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Work closely with the Catalog Team, Product Development, and Engineering to align research with UAC’s business strategy.
- Support new product launches by ensuring all necessary catalog data is available before production.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor catalogs, and OEM innovations to enhance UAC’s market position.
Qualifications:
- Experience in catalog research, automotive data analysis, or OEM research.
- Strong understanding of OEM databases, vehicle applications, and automotive part interchanges.
- Proficiency in ACES & PIES standards for automotive cataloging.
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables).
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
- Familiarity with POLK data or similar industry research tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Parts Specialist (P Series) Certifications – Each certification will increase salary by $0.50 per hour:
- P1 - Medium-Heavy Truck Parts Specialist (70 scored questions)

Schedule:
8-hour or 10-hour shifts
Monday – Friday (No nights, No weekends)
