Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction and heavy equipment operation, with the ability to analyze project specifications and prepare accurate estimates. This role is crucial for ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare comprehensive estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and scope.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to assess equipment needs and operational costs effectively.
- Conduct site visits to gather data for accurate estimation, including construction site assessments.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
- Analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and techniques relevant to paving, horizontal drilling, and other construction processes.
- Provide support during the bidding process by presenting estimates to clients and addressing any inquiries.
- Assist in the development of project schedules based on estimated timelines.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry or related field.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in heavy equipment operation including loaders and backhoes.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and practices is a plus.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost estimation.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey information to clients and team members.
- Experience with Caterpillar machinery or similar heavy equipment is preferred.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
