Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care to critically ill patients recovering from cardiac surgery and other complex medical conditions. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for individuals in the CVICU.
- Monitor vital signs and manage complex medical equipment including ventilators and cardiac monitors.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health conditions and recovery processes.
- Document patient information accurately in electronic health records systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to safety standards, including ICD-9 coding for documentation.
- Perform specialized procedures such as spinal taps when necessary.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends in occupational health and home community care practices.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Previous experience in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with neonatal ventilators and mammography is a plus.
- Strong understanding of cardiovascular conditions and treatments.
- Experience with CT imaging technology is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team while demonstrating strong leadership skills.
